INFODUMP - Fingers-Cut, Megamachine!

many small artists i grow to love are incredibly sparse for information online; the INFODUMP post series is my attempt to host as much of my personal research regarding these artists as i can. these posts are intended to be returned to and updated!

Fingers-Cut, Megamachine (often rendered as Fingers-Cut, Megamachine!) were an indie folk band from Los Angeles, California led by singer/songwriter Devon Williams. A band titled Lung Fa Tang would be formed in mid-2002 by Williams and creative partner David Benitez following the dissolve of their former punk band Osker and—following a name change in late 2002[src]—the band would release a collection of singles and EPs as well as two full-length albums before announcing their disbanding on June 12th, 2006.[src]

Notes: First release from the band, sometimes referred to as "The Green Record"[src][src] due to the release's color scheme. The recordings of "Testament" and "Paint Your Shoes" present on this release are the same that appear on Color Tub, while the recording of "Laughs Per Minute" is different from the one that appears on the Fingers Cut Megamachine album.

Notes: First "full-length" release from the band, described as a sort of demo compilation.[src] "Testament" and "Paint Your Shoes" are the same recordings that appear on the Fingers-Cut, Megamachine! EP, while the recording of "OKNO" is different from what appears on the Kurt Vile split. The fourth track is unnamed and is not listed on the release, but is often referred to as "Untitled".
